The Complete Dictionary of Pregnancy Board Abbreviations and Acronyms

In Pregnancy by The Modern Belly

Online pregnancy forums, message boards and fertility communities on social networks are a great place to learn from the experience of others and share your thoughts, feelings and questions with women who are going through the same things as you. However, if you’re anything like me, I’m pretty sure that you found your first visits to these forums slightly confusing. It sometimes seems like women in online fertility and pregnancy communities speak in secret code that at first seems to make no sense. What the hell is a BFP? What do ‘dp’ and ‘dt’ stand for in the world of pregnancy and IVF? And what could FRER possibly mean?!

To make things easier and help you decipher the baby board lingo, I put together a dictionary of common pregnancy board abbreviations and acronyms. I tried to make this as comprehensive as possible, so if there are any important ones I left out, please let me know in the comments and I’ll add them in.
